BAALL (Bremen Ambient Assisted Living) = THE AAL project in SHIP

AAL at http://baall.informatik.uni-bremen.de: Im BAALL sollen neu entwickelte AAL-Techniken erprobt und bis zur Alltagstauglichkeit hin evaluiert werden. Im Zentrum steht die (natürlich-sprachliche) Interaktion der Nutzer des Rollstuhls ROLLAND oder der Gehhilfe INTELLIGENT-WALKER mit der intelligenten Umgebung (Steuerung von Raumautomation, intelligenten Möbeln, etc.); darauf aufbauend sollen höhere Assistenzszenarien realisiert werden.

CCAALL (Competence Center for Ambient Assisted Living)

AAL at http://ccaal.dfki.de/: The DFKI Competence Center Ambient Assisted Living - CCAAL - is a cross-project and cross-department virtual organization within the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence coordinating and conducting research and development in the area of Ambient Assisted Living - AAL. It joins forces from the departments Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI), Safe and Secure Cognitive Systems (SKS), Agents and Simulated Reality (ASR), Institute for Information Systems (IWI), Augmented Vision (AV), Knowledge Management (KM) and Robotics Innovation Center (RIC) and thus offers competences in a wide range of areas within AAL. Following a holistic approach to AAL, the driving force for research and development are primarily users of the technology, society and business partners.

Our long-term vision is to promote an accessible intelligent environment beyond today's state-of-the-art based on standards-based open architectures and innovative solutions where everyone can live a secure and autonomous life and thus play role in society. We do so by combining competences and cutting-edge results and assets from projects running in the participating research departments.

In der Allianz AAL arbeiten 13 Fraunhofer-Institute gemeinsam an AAL- und »Personal Health«-Systemlösungen. Dabei wird ein ganzheitlicher Ansatz verfolgt, der verschiedene Technologien, Anwendungen und Nutzergruppen integriert, flankierende Aktivitäten im Bereich der Forschungskoordination, Geschäftsmodellentwicklung und Standardisierung einbezieht und modulare Systeme aus interoperablen Komponenten ermöglicht.

FZI (Forschungszentrum Informatik Karlsruhe)

Das FZI Living Lab AAL wurde im Rahmen der strategischen Forschung zu Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) eingerichtet. Hier arbeiten Forscherinnen und Forscher des FZI in interdisziplinären Teams mit Partnern aus Industrie, Gesundheitsversorgung und Pflege an Technologien und Dienstleistungskonzepten für ein selbständiges Leben im Alter.

openAAL is a joint open source initiative by CAS Software AG, FZI Research Center for Information Technologies and Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena.

EU Projekte (keinen bekannteren Projektpartnern zuordbar)

  • HOPE: Smart Home for Elderly People (HOPE) is an integrated, smart platform that enables the elderly people with Alzheimer's disease to use innovative technology for a more independent life, easy access to information, monitor their health, and serve as a source of inspiration for users as well as for people working with assistive devices. Moreover, it enables them to perform tasks important for their daily lives that they were able to do before they were diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and which are important for their daily personal lives.

The Smart Home for elderly People focuses on people with Alzheimer disease. They use an intelligent IP Based Universal Control Box (UCB) instead of the URC. There is not much info on their website:

Die Arbeitsgruppe "Schnittstellenintegration und Interoperabilität" unter Leitung von Dr. Marco Eichelberg stellt unter dem Titel "Interoperabilität von AAL-Systemkomponenten" relevante Standards und Normen aus den unterschiedlichen Technik-Domänen vor, derer sich AAL-Systeme bedienen.
